Happy Tuesday. I had a chance to go by new space on Friday -- It is really looking fabulous -- Big, BIG KUDOS to everyone who has been giving of their time. But, as good as it looks...it still needs more work. Please find some time to come by this week and help. Here are the hours volunteers are needed are needed at Edges this week: VOLUNTEER HOURS - JULY 30 - August 3, 2008 Wednesday, July 30, 2008 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, July 31, 2008 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, August 1, 2008 10:00 pm - 5:00 pm Saturday, August 2, 2008 10:00 pm - 4:30 pm Sunday, August 3, 2008 11:00 am - 5:00 pm A Note from Ali regarding WISH LISTS: So I've had several folks that cannot visit and share their time, offer Home Depot or Lowe's gift cards and let me tell you--how helpful!!! And of course, we always accept cash! Did you know, it was over $10,000 just to get the keys to move in, much less what it's taking to clean it out and create what's wanted--dry wall, tools, supplies, mud, paint, flooring, etc. On that note: those volunteers that have been super active in helping me keep this organized (whether from afar or at the space) are the one's getting their suggestions in--so if you want to see something at the space (I've heard "padded room"...puurrrr), then help out, get involved, or solicit sponsors to pay for it so we can create it!! :-) We want those things too, but they're costly and we need supporters. If you're unable--think of folks or businesses that are able. ------- Many have asked, what is our "BIG wish list", meaning those things we sorta need, but really just want, but would be really fabulous to have and folks would immensely appreciate: ** New chairs, more seat room and easily stackable. We need a minimum of 50 really, but at this time budget is so tight that we may have to purchase a few at a time. The local office furniture places are offering them only as low as $32 each I've found, but online here they're $25 per! www.bizchair.com/ahl-50-blk-gg.html ** We REALLY want to put in that big shower for everyone's use and it so happens that Home Depot is having a huge sale on tiles (we need a lot of the same, but thanks to all those that have offered their spares) and it's going to take a lot, so those Home Depot cards are priceless to creating that goal, or if you happen to be banging someone in the tile industry...
